To be considered for the IMSTL program as a mentor, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Status: Applicants must be local women.
- American women who are local to the area or who have moved from another state.
- International women who have lived in the area for at least five years.
Residency: Applicants must live in the St. Louis bi-state region.
Personal Qualities:
- Social and outgoing
- Kind and considerate
- Culturally sensitive
- Friendly and approachable
- Respectful and courteous
Transportation & Financial Capability: Applicants must have their own means of transportation and be able to cover the costs of extra-curricular activities.
Time commitment: Applicants must commit to at least 20-30 hours spread out through the one-year program.
Age: must be 25 years old or above.

To be considered for the IMSTL program as a mentee, applicants must meet the following criteria:
International Status: Applicants must be foreign-born women (newcomers or moved here up to five years ago).
Residency: Applicants must live in the St. Louis bi-state region with intent to stay in the region.
Visa Requirements: Applicants must possess a permanent or long-term visa. Student visas are not accepted.
Transportation and Financial Capability: Applicants must have their own means of transportation and be able to cover the costs of extra-curricular activities.
Educational Background: A minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent from their home country or the US is required.
Language Proficiency: Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to communicate effectively.
